Areas of Practice

Services for the Legal Community

As an attorney with broad experience in the private sector, Steve understands the lawyer’s business model, as well as the pressure that lawyers are under as they try to balance the competing demands of a variety of clients, Regional Centers, agencies like USCIS, deadlines, and the expectations of their own partners. Steve has assisted and consulted in areas, including but not limited to:

  • Providing overflow and consulting support to paralegal shops;

  • Source of Funds, from consulting through full report drafting;

  • Litigation assistance;

  • RFE and NOID responses;

  • Serving as an expert witness on Consular procedures;

  • Providing consular processing advice and training for law firm clients; and

  • Requests for evidence, notices of intent to deny.

Services for Immigration Agents

Steve is an excellent speaker and has provided training and presentations on immigration issues, including the EB5 program, E2, F, J, O, P and L visas in Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Vietnam, Poland, Ukraine, and of course, in the United States. Steve is happy to work with agents and their clients and to support marketing efforts by:

  • Lending support to marketing efforts in the form of seminars and presentations;

  • Vetting clients prior to introducing them to investment opportunities;

  • Helping to work out and explain consular delays, and provide consular processing training and advice; and

  • Assisting clients with acclimation to life in the US through referrals and first-person assistance.

Services for Individual Immigrant and/or Investors

The investment immigration landscape can be particularly confusing to individuals, because there are so many stakeholders. In the EB5 field in particular, investors may be confused by what appears to be divided loyalties. Steve has acted as a “trusted advisor” for investors in areas such as:

  • Litigation and appeals, including mandamus;

  • Liaison between investor and the many stakeholders;

  • Review of investor Source of Funds to establish an investor’s bona fides; and

  • Providing Consular Processing services and training.

Services for Reginal Centers and Developers

Regional Centers need assurance that investors are solid and dependable. Regional Centers also need investors. Steve can help with both by assisting with:

  • Sales and marketing, in the form of seminars, meetings, and counseling with prospects;

  • Source of Funds consulting, for investment immigration and also for private equity;

  • Assisting with regard to redeployment; and

  • Assisting with USCIS/project related issues, such as material changes.
